Grammy-award winning Kendrick Lamar is no stranger to the Trendsetter team. We have worked with the rap icon on his striking music videos for “DNA.” and “HUMBLE.” each of which have over 100 million views on YouTube. “ELEMENT.” mirrors the same dramatic, symbolic imagery depicted in the prior two videos off the album. The 30 year old rapper has been making headlines since the start of his career. His first major label album, good kid, m. A. A. d. city, was nominated for Album of the Year in the 2014 Grammy’s. Kendrick made his mark at the 58th Grammy Awards after he received 11 nominations in one night for his album To Pimp a Butterfly—just one nomination behind Michael Jackson, who holds the record of 12 nominations since 1984. That same year, Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
The Compton-based, platinum selling rapper currently has nearly 28 million monthly listeners on Spotify, making him the 21st most Spotify-streamed artist in the world. His most recent album DAMN. helped him become the fifth artist in the world to simultaneously land all of the album’s tracks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Be sure to catch Kendrick Lamar on tour this summer and follow him on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
