J-14 has premiered the music video for “Be Mine Tonight” by Trendsetter artist Rocky Loves Emily. On Monday, the magazine’s website offered the first look at the new video from the pop-punk fivesome. The “Be Mine Tonight” video chronicles the reunion of two former high-school sweethearts who are given one more chance at love. In a statement to J-14, lead singer Brandon Ellis reinforces the video’s carpe diem message: “Do you want to look back one day and say, ‘What if?’ Neither do I. Let’s be honest, Drake put it best: ‘You only live once, that’s the motto, YOLO.'” Rocky Loves Emily was founded in 2008 when the group members met while attending Rochester College in Michigan. In July 2009, the band independently released The What What What EP and toured around the United States. The group signed to Tooth & Nail Records in mid-2010 and released the American Dream EP in November of the same year. “Be Mine Tonight” is the second music video off of Rocky Loves Emily’s debut Secrets Don’t Make Friends, which was released in April 2012 through Tooth & Nail Records. Rocky Loves Emily has been compared to pop-rock groups such as The Maine, Hit the Lights, Jack’s Mannequin, and All Time Low. The band has also acquired recognition as a Christian group due to its members’ religious influence. Currently, Rocky Loves Emily is in the middle of “The Summer of Love” tour with Allstar Weekend, Honor Society, and Namesake.
