Prior to her Voice debut, Massachusetts-born Alisan Porter was no stranger to the spotlight. Throughout her childhood, the now 36 year-old made acting appearances in Parenthood, Stella, and I Love You To Death. Her big break came in 1991 as the lead alongside Jim Belushi in Curly Sue. Eventually, Alisan began pursuing a career in music, first taking to The Ten Commandments: The Musical and releasing her own solo album in 2009 before auditioning for The Voice last year.
Porter’s upcoming EP I Come In Pieces, which was written on a six day trip to Nashville alongside producer Greg Wells (Adele, Elton John), is a seamless blend of soul, gospel, and driving rock and roll. Upon the release of “Change,” Porter explains “Freedom. Acceptance. Love. This is the change the world wants to see. What it NEEDS to see. ‘Change’ is my anthem, a pact with one another, to BE the change we want to see”.
