Synchronized swimmers, Mariya Koroleva and Anita Alvarez, are the only synchronized swim team representing the US in the 2016 Rio Games and we couldn’t be more proud to help secure them a feature on Cosmo to show the world how much determination and talent they have!

The pair qualified by finishing seventh at an Olympic qualifier held in February at the same venue they will be competing in during the Games. They scored 82.3821 in the duet technical routine and 85.2667 in the duet free routine for a combined score of 167.6488.
Koroleva competed at the 2012 London Games with then-partner Mary Killman. They finished 11th. Alvarez is making her Olympic debut in Rio.
