Time for a TSM new artist alert! Trendsetter is excited to announce that we are now working with Indie/Roots band Sons of Fathers promoting their new video “Roots and Vine”.
Straight out of Austin, Texas, the band was formed by the dynamic songwriting duo Paul Cauthen and David Beck. Paul and David met by chance while working on their own solo projects in San Marcos, but it was their record label, Blanco River Music, that led them to join forces. Between the two, songwriting and singing came easily. “We knocked out an incredible number of songs in two days,” says Paul. “It was the weirdest thing… We just fall into sockets of harmony naturally.” Sons of Fathers has been compared to bands like the Lumineers, the Avett Brothers and Mumford & Sons. They’ve accomplished much for a new band in such a short period of time, receiving recognition from the Rolling stones, NPR, Paste Magazine and CMT and a live radio debut on WXPN’s Free at Noon series in 2011 even before the release of their debut album. Sons of Fathers soon after released their self-titled debut album with Regan Schmidt on guitar and lap steel, Dan Cohen on guitar and mandolin, and Dees Stribling on drums, garnering national praise, with eMusic naming them one of 12 new acts to watch. Sons of Fathers are at it again with the release of their follow-up album, Burning Days.
Sons of Fathers will be touring the US for the next few months and are sure to make their presence known on the indie/folk rock music scene. Be sure to check out their new video for “Roots and Vine” here!
