(THURSDAY OCTOBER 3, 2019) –– basking in the glow, the latest album from oso oso, was met with widespread praise upon its release this summer; Pitchfork gave the record its coveted Best New Music title, Billboard called it a “massive musical leap forward,” NPR Music featured it in their Top 12 Albums of August, and Paste confidently declared it to be “one of the best pop-rock records of 2019.”
Today, oso oso release a video for “basking in the glow,” a vibrant and gleeful introduction to the fleeting optimism that the album is centered upon. Complete with footage taken from their recently-wrapped first headlining tour that features sold out shows in NYC, Chicago and Los Angeles, the video will make you wish you could be in any one of those rooms again.
Luckily, oso oso will be touring again before the year is up, embarking on a run alongside major inspirations for the indie band, Manchester Orchestra and Foxing. All tickets for those shows are on sale now at: https://www.songkick.com/artists/8530684-oso-oso

If 2016’s beloved the yunahon mixtape found Lilitri leaning more into the pessimistic side of his brain, basking in the glow is an experiment in its glass-half-full opposite. Here, he acknowledges that there are certainly more bad days than good, but maybe for once he could actually embrace the latter instead of just anticipating its inevitable departure.
Sonically-speaking, Basking In The Glow delivers. Lilitri writes songs bigger than himself at times, making an album that’s ambitiously complex, and one that captures the spirit of modern day optimism: clutching tight to the unbridled glee of the short, sunny, major-key moments before they dissolve.
