Trendsetter is currently working with Drake & Republic Records to spread some positive vibes with his latest single, “God‘s Plan.” Coinciding with the release of Drakes latest single off his latest EP Scary Hours, the legendary Canadian Rapper dropped the accompanying video which showcases him donating nearly his nearly 1 million dollar production budget to people in Miami.
Directed by Karena Evans and produced by Fulianne Petikyan with Director X and Taj Critchlow as executive producers, “God’s Plan” opens up with a simple introduction, “The budget for this video was $996,631.90” followed by “We gave it all away. Don’t tell the label.”
The video then showcases the Canadian Rapper donating and giving away all of the money to the people around Miami. Distributing his million-dollar production budget to supermarket shoppers, families, students, shelters, high-schools, and more, Drake spreads some good deeds embodying generosity through acts of kindness seen in the music video itself. Aside from the emotional monologue with scenes of drake handing out cash to families to paying a students’ tuition in the neighborhood of Miami, Drake still shows his dope side with his dance moves as well as jumping up and down with a bunch of high schoolers halfway throughout the video to the sick beat in the song.
With the drop of the heartwarming viral music video, which already amassed over 70 million views in only a week of its release (Feb. 16) and also entering the US chart history books as the only second song to reach over 100 million streams in a week, Drake called the video, “the most important thing,” he’s ever done in his career and it’s sure to make any viewer compelled to agree that the uplifting and heart-warming video is what the world needs right now.
