Trendsetter’s Steven Filippone was in attendance for the much anticipated Firefly Music Festival this weekend! If you aren’t aware, Firefly is a premiere music experience set among lush wooded landscapes, featuring renowned headliners and emerging artists. Steven got to check out Marian Hill, who has been all the buzz lately as one of music’s hottest up and coming newcomers:
Check out his review of their stellar performance below:
“Marian Hill closed out Firefly Music Festival on Friday night and they absolutely killed it. Samantha Gongol’s heart throbbing, smooth tone meshed perfectly with Jeremy Lloyds chest pounding beats and to top it all off, Steve Davit poured his smooth, soothing sax riffs over the two, leaving the crowd with chills going up their spines. The crowd just couldn’t get enough of the live sax. If it wasn’t for Firefly’s strict scheduling they would have went well passed 2 am as the audience roared for an encore but their wish was unfortunately not granted.
The band opened up strong with “One time” off of their debut EP Sway and did not lose the audience even for a second. How could they? It is just impossible not to move your feet to the laid-back grooves and pounding bass that Jeremy Lloyd puts together. Lloyd, Gongol, and Davit finished it up with of course, “Got it” and practically had to force the crowd out of the festival when the 45 minute set time just wasn’t enough. You truly know a talented group when they are better live then on the record and Marian Hill is with out a doubt one of those artists. If they are in your area you NEED to see these guys.”
Glad you had a great time, Steven! Marian Hill is most definitely making quite the name for themselves and was noted as out of the most notable performances at Firefly.
