Goldstar– When Iliana dedicates a love song to her teacher during an elementary school talent show, the ensuing homophobic reactions from school officials and her mother taint the experience. Iliana’s disappointment escalates when she overhears her mother Terry accusing her queer best friend Chela of influencing Iliana’s actions. Despite the disastrous evening, Liliana finds solace and faith with friends.
Vamonos– When Hope learns that Mac, her recently deceased girlfriend, is going to be buried in a dress, she desperately tries to persuade Rosa, Mac’s mother, to bury her in a suit instead. However, when she realizes that she’s fighting old traditional and conservative views, Hope decides to take the matter into her own hands with the help of her friends.
Drowning– When Gabe, an overweight high-schooler, musters the courage to talk to the girl of his dreams, a promising friendship forms that’s almost too good to be true. He even starts feeling good about the “extra love” he’s carrying around. But, when she becomes the target of Marcus, his personal bully, things take a turn for the worse and he must decide whether or not to finally stand up.
