The global chart topper is off Imany’s second studio albumThe Wrong Kind of War which will be released in the US March 10th via Ultra Records. The original version of the song was originally recorded for French film, Sous Les Jupes des Filles. Says Imany, “The song was written for a specific scene when 2 women were about to make love for the first time. One of the two was very insecure. The song Is about dropping the layers that prevent you from being yourself.” Of the remix, Imany says, it’s more playful, maybe a little more literal. The video aims to convey a feeling of freedom – the two women are isolated from the world and safe together. “It’s about being brave enough to love who you want to love any way you want to love them. At the end of the day it all comes down to being yourself, and feeling FREE to be yourself. That’s the message behind the video.”
Imany’s second album The Wrong Kind of War was released in 2016 in Europe and charted Top 10 in France. Her first album The Shape of a Broken Heart was released in 2011 and earned multi-platinum status in several European countries. Imany is currently touring and promoting the new album.
