Born from optimistic attitudes, star-studded backgrounds in the music industry, and penchants for life’s finer things (including cold beer and broads), the NYC-based collective of seasoned musicians known as Cold Beer & Broads was built upon the mutual friendship among Larry Studnicky (songwriter/lead & backup vocals), Charles Czarnecki (producer/songwriter/ keyboards, percussion/lead & backup vocals), and John Macom (rhythm & electric guitars/lead & backup vocals). Mike DoCampo (rhythm & electric guitars/backup vocals) joined the band soon after CB&B’s release of their first single, GET ME HOME BY CHRISTMAS EVE.
Before coming together as Cold Beer & Broads, the group’s members had worked with a litany of legendary acts and artists including Pete Townshend, Brian May & Roger Taylor of Queen, Suge Knight (Death Row Records), Fred Schneider of The B-52’s, and Mickey Dolenz of The Monkees. Songs written and recorded by guitarist John Macom have been heard in indie films and in TV shows including DAWSON’S CREEK, PARTY OF FIVE and FELICITY.
Despite its profane chorus, FIRST AMENDMENT BLUES (THE F.U. SONG) was warmly received upon its release to radio late in 2013. Through the Spring of 2014, the song’s radio edit received airplay on dozens of AAA, Americana and college radio stations across the country. FIRST AMENDMENT BLUES (THE F.U. SONG) will appear on CB&B’s forthcoming debut EP, “Six Pack” (Spring 2016).
