We are excited to welcome Sting & Shaggy to the Trendsetter 2018 roster with the latest music video for their collaboration single “Don’t Make Me Wait.”
Sting, former singer/songwriter for The Police and Jamaican musician, singer, and DJ Shaggy have joined forces for a Caribbean-flavored collaboration for their new single, “Don’t Make Me Wait.” After their broadcast debut performance of “Don’t Make Me Wait” on the Grammys live from New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Sting & Shaggy also performed the new single at the NFL’s Superbowl Tailgate event which aired on NBC this past Sunday.
Directed by Gil Green and filmed in Kingston, Jamaica with laid-back reggae fusion vibes as well as a hint of rock and pop energy, the music video showcases the vibrant spirit, culture, and music of Jamaica seen through the Sting & Shaggy as they experience all Jamaica has to offer.
Following the release of the catchy new single released on January 25th, Sting and Shaggy unite for a collaborative island-influenced album, entitled 44/876, set to be released on April 20th.

Gordon Sumner, better known by his stage name Sting, is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. Sting formerly was the frontman for The Police writing most of the songs like “Message in a Bottle” and “Walking on the Moon” that won The Police their first Grammy Award back in 1980. With enormous success continuing to write and produce albums such as Zenyatta Mondatta (1980) with hits like “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” and “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” from Ghost in the Machine (1981), Sting also started his acting career gaining a leading role in the 1982 film Brimstone and Treacle. Before taking a break, The Police regrouped to put together one more studio album, Synchronicity which the single “Every Breath You Take” gained huge success climbing to the top of the American and British charts.
The “It Wasn’t Me” hitmaker Shaggy, emerged in the early ’90s as one of the most successful reggae artists who took the music industry by storm with hits like “Oh Carolina” and albums like Boombastic which the title track sold over one million copies with its release in 1995. Continuing with his success appearing in duets with artists such as Janet Jackson, Shaggy’s most memorable hit “It Wasn’t Me” which featured Rik Rok from Napster swept the pop charts and reached the No. 1 spot in early 2001 with “Angel” also reaching the top in the U.S. and U.K. in addition to his album Hot Shot selling over six million copies in the U.S. alone.
